HOW TO WEAR YOUR ALIGNER

HOW TO WEAR YOUR ALIGNER
A lot of Eledent Aligner patients are new to aligners, which means they could face some difficulty the first few times they put them on. Aligners won’t necessarily be a perfect fit when you first wear them, because they are shaped to shift the position of your teeth. As a general rule, if the aligners are worn on the difficult area first, the rest of the areas should be easy. So, if you face a bit of a challenge the first few times, here are some ways that could help you put your aligners on like a pro:
  • 1. FRONT TO BACK

Use this technique when your front teeth are protruding or are excessively crowded. Insert the aligner on the front teeth first, then push the tray down over the back teeth.
  • 2. BACK TO FRONT

Use this technique when your teeth are relatively upright. Insert the aligner on the back teeth first, then push the tray down over the front teeth.
  • 3. SIDE TO SIDE

Use this technique when the back teeth are slanting inward towards the middle (lingual inclination). Insert one side first from the back to the front, then press down on the other side. Press the aligner with your fingers; do not bite the aligners to secure them over your teeth.
  • 4. FRONT THEN LINGUAL OR BUCCAL

Insert the aligner on the front teeth, then push the tray down on the side that is flared. So if the teeth are flared lingually, push the tray down on the lingual side. If they are flared buccally, push down on the buccal side.
If you found these tips helpful, stay tuned for more in the coming weeks. In the meantime, don’t forget the importance of keeping your aligners clean. Looking for a perfect smile?
